Kais Saied calls for a Libyan-Libyan political solution


Tunisian President Kais Saied reiterated the unity of fate and called for intensifying consultations to help the Libyan parties.

Saied said he is confident that Libyans can manage their own affairs without outside interference.

He also stressed the importance of continuing coordination at all levels, whether on bilateral issues, as well as various regional and international issues and issues of common concern, such as the fight against terrorism, organized crime and irregular migration.

On Friday, President Kais Saied met at the Carthage Palace with Ramtane Lamamra, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, and Najla Mangoush, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the State of Libya, in the presence of Othman Jerandi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad.

During the meeting, Said reviewed the results of the talks between the foreign ministers of Tunisia, Algeria and Libya, which focused on a number of issues related to bilateral relations as well as the follow-up of some regional and international issues, foremost of which the situation in Libya.

The meeting reflects the keenness of the three countries to develop relations and explore new horizons of cooperation, as well as the exchange of views and coordination of positions on all current international and regional issues and the political, security, economic, social and humanitarian challenges they pose.

The consultations focus on a number of issues of common concern, including development, the fight against terrorism, tackling organized crime and food, energy and environmental security issues, which are self-asserting in the light of current international developments.
