Political forces seek to restore stability in Sudan
Despite the fact that Khartoum is mired in numerous unprecedented economic and security crises, disagreements are escalating in a way that threatens the future of the Sudan. The Sudanese street is still living in a state of demonstrations, sit-ins, and protests demanding civil rule, which led to the death and injury in light of the clashes that took place between the various forces and the Sudanese police elements. This was condemned by international institutions, which called for the non-use of violence in the political scene and the resort to political dialog to end those disputes and conflicts in the Sudan, in order to stabilize the state.
Homeland protection
He added that the priority is to protect the unity and security of the Sudan and complete the process of democratic transition, stressing that the military institution has its role to protect the homeland and inviting national forces to participate in the Sudanese dialog. He clarified that the military institution will commit to implementing the outputs of the dialog, and that the Sovereignty Council will be dissolved after the formation of the next government, and a Supreme Council of the Armed Forces will be formed.
Ending military rule
Sudanese political analyst Dr. Mohamed al-Tayeb said: The situation in Sudan is getting worse due to the demands of the Sudanese street at the moment and its insistence on handing over power to a civilian government and ending the military rule in a timely manner, he said, pointing out that the street will only accept these demands, and this comes in light of the refusal of the conflicting parties to sit at the dialog table.
The Sudanese political analyst added that the army’s lack of participation in the dialog and leaving the matter to the tripartite mechanism in the Sudan is a good thing. All political forces must agree to get out of the current impasse and the developments in the Sudanese arena and to come out with solutions that satisfy all parties.
