Taliban uncover ISIS hideout in Kabul, kill 2
Taliban fighters on Thursday raided an ISIS hideout in Kabul, killing several ISIS members.
“An ISIS hideout was discovered in Kabul province in an intelligence operation conducted by Taliban forces”, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told media outlets close to the group.
He added: “Two members of this group were killed and four others were wounded in clashes that took place during a raid on al-Khawarij hideout (ISIS) in area 315 in Kabul city”, he said.
“These people were planning subversive activities in Kabul”, Mujahid said.
The Taliban on Saturday accused ISIS in Khorasan of fomenting strife against its rule in Afghanistan, describing it as a false sect.
The Taliban’s offensive against the ISIS terrorist group after a three-day conference of religious leaders and elders in Kabul.
The movement said: “We are addressing the nation that the phenomenon of sedition, which is called ISIS Khorasan, is invalid in this day and a lying sect is spreading corruption in our Islamic country”.
“It is forbidden to obtain any kind of assistance or relationship with them”, It said.
It pointed out that Afghanistan follows an Islamic regime, which is responsible for security and justice in the country, and considers the armed opposition to this regime to be rebellion and corruption, and any kind of opposition to this ruling Islamic regime also contradicts Islamic law and national interests.
The Khorasan group, which has operated in Afghanistan in the past few years, is affiliated with the terrorist organization ISIS in Iraq and the Levant and carried out the deadliest attacks on Afghan civilians and was responsible for thousands of deaths since its formation in 2015.
