Yemen: Houthi militias continue their terrorism and perpetrate a massacre in Lahij, Details
Five soldiers, including one civilian, were killed and nine civilians wounded on Friday in clashes and a missile attack by Houthi militias, Iran’s arm in Yemen, on a residential village in Yemen’s southern Lahij province, Yemeni media reported.
Sources said that Houthi militias fired anti-armor missiles on residential villages located to the northwest of Lahij governorate, which resulted in civilian casualties. The injured were treated at hospitals in Lahij and Aden governorates, most of them in critical condition.
The same sources confirmed to the Yemeni media that a Houthi missile targeted a gathering in the village of “Qaddash” in the area of Karsh in the district of Al Qabbaytah, killing four soldiers and one civilian and wounding nine other civilians, including children.
Houthi militias shelled the city of Marib, north-eastern Yemen, with rockets and shells. One of them targeted a weapons depot, killing four civilians, including a baby girl, and wounding eight, according to preliminary estimates.
Security forces in Marib shot down a Houthi procession west of the city as they attempted to target a camp for displaced people before reaching their target.
On Tuesday, the executive unit for the management of camps for displaced people in Marib province said that four IDPs, including two children, were killed and 23 people were injured, some seriously, in the attack.
On Thursday, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) renewed its call for the protection of civilians in Yemen, after security agencies in Marib province managed to put down a Houthi march trying to target a camp for displaced people.
The organization said in the statement that the residents of Marib faced difficult conditions following the multiple bombings on November 7th, adding that the bombings resulted in many casualties, including women and children, and the destruction of some infrastructure for the displaced.
