‘Syria First’ party leader: The United Arab Emirates has always been at the forefront of supporting the Syrian people
The UAE’s continuous support to Syria has not stopped since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, but has increased during the Coronavirus pandemic to support the Syrian people in facing this crisis, and after that, the continuous support after the devastating earthquake.
Immediate movements
The immediate movements on more than one level and within more than one track led by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, brought the aid of the Emirates and its men, within hours of the earthquake, alongside our brothers and friends in Syria, to provide assistance and to eliminate the effects of the earthquake and to alleviate the pains of the injured and those in need.
Sample Giving
Those efforts are in line with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the United Arab Emirates, who was keen to continue his efforts to give and continue his charitable work and to make sure that the charitable and humanitarian work he was keen to sustain is sustained.
Field teams from the UAE Red Crescent Society, as part of Operation “Gallant Knight II”, organized field tours to support and provide psychological, moral and material support to a number of affected families in Latakia, one of the Syrian provinces affected by last month’s earthquake.
Humanitarian support
Salman Shbeb, president of the Syria First Party, says that the UAE has always been at the forefront of all conferences to discuss solutions to the Syrian crisis and to support its people on humanitarian grounds. This support is confirmed by facts and reflected in the language of numbers and is clearly reflected in UAE humanitarian initiatives at the highest levels.
He added that the UAE has repeatedly stressed that the only political solution is to end the Syrian crisis, and stressed the importance of finding an active Arab role in the efforts of a political solution and helping Syria return to its Arab environment. The UAE believes in a political solution as the only way out of the Syrian crisis, and has repeatedly stressed this in all international conferences and bilateral talks.
With the earthquake, the UAE’s humanitarian efforts were launched immediately, and the UAE leadership took the initiative to move on more than one track, he said, adding that there are important humanitarian messages that embody the UAE’s values and principles of helping and supporting people in all directions.
