“New Phase”: Hezbollah Announces Escalation of Clashes with Israel

A new escalation has been declared by the Lebanese Hezbollah in its confrontation with Israel.

On Thursday evening, Hezbollah announced the launch of a “new and escalating phase” in its confrontation with Israel, confirming for the first time the use of “precision missiles” to target Israeli forces at the southern Lebanese border or in northern Israel.

A statement by Hezbollah, reported by Reuters, said: “The Islamic Resistance Operations Room announces the transition to a new and escalating phase in the confrontation with the Israeli enemy, and the events of the coming days will speak for themselves.”

Hezbollah noted that its fighters were targeting “the gatherings of Israeli enemy forces in military posts and barracks along the border, as well as in settlements and occupied northern cities,” using “various types of missiles, including precision missiles used for the first time.”

According to Hezbollah‘s statement, supported by Iran, the death toll of Israeli losses as observed by its fighters stands at approximately 55 dead and more than 500 injured, including officers and soldiers, since the start of ground clashes in Lebanon on October 1.

No comment has yet been issued from the Israeli side regarding Hezbollah‘s announcement.
