Muslim Brotherhood Accused of Assassination Attempt in Taiz, Yemen


A Yemeni political leader was the target of an assassination attempt by a security official affiliated with the Islah Party, considered the Yemeni arm of the Muslim Brotherhood.

According to sources cited by (Al-Montasaf Net), Adam Abdo Said, Deputy Head of the National Resistance Political Office in Taiz, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in the Sina area.

The sources reported that Nabil Al-Kudhai, assistant security director and supporter of the Islah Party, intercepted the leader’s vehicle with a military convoy and opened fire on him.

The same sources added that Adam Abdo Said miraculously escaped the bullets aimed directly at him, managing to flee.

They noted that this assassination attempt occurred just days after security forces announced the arrest of the killer of his son Bassim, who himself had been targeted in an assassination attempt a few months prior.

The full details and circumstances surrounding this assassination attempt have yet to be revealed, with fingers pointing at the Muslim Brotherhood, accused of fueling instability and crime, particularly in areas under their control.
