The Muslim Brotherhood Unmasks Its Own: An Ally Lists the Betrayals of al-Qaradawi’s Son

Internal conflicts among the leaders of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood continue to reveal the deceptive masks concealing the reality of opportunists and mercenaries behind campaigns of disinformation and manipulation. These conflicts expose their contradictions and falsehoods.

Recently, an ally of the Muslim Brotherhood, Amr Abdel Hadi, launched another attack against the son of the late extremist preacher Yusuf Al-Qaradawi. Abdel Hadi claimed he would release a series of videos exposing “the truth about deceptive figures” who have contributed to “delaying victory,” as stated in the introduction of a video he shared on social media.

In this video, Abdel Hadi accused al-Qaradawi’s son of being a “millionaire” with assets in two countries, traveling with a second nationality between several states, and being introduced into politics by the Brotherhood to exploit his father’s name. Despite these privileges, “failure has always been his companion,” according to an article in Al-Osboua.

Abdel Hadi stated that his criticism targets the actions and positions of al-Qaradawi’s son, not his person. However, he mentioned the son’s personal issues with his wife, asserting that he neither wrote about the matter nor shared the videos circulating on social media in which she accused him of tearing up her passport and preventing her return to Egypt.

He admitted to sending Abdel Rahman Youssef a plan in 2014 to obstruct the dispersal of the Rabaa sit-in and requesting his help in implementing it. Abdel Rahman, however, did not respond. In 2015, Abdel Hadi claimed to have shared a proposal titled We Are the Solution, which Abdel Rahman allegedly plagiarized and claimed as his own, forcing Abdel Hadi to prematurely announce it.

Abdel Hadi also recounted al-Qaradawi son’s contradictory positions following the January 2011 events, detailing how he left the protests to attend a meeting with a senior official, then joined a TV channel labeled by the Brotherhood as “aligned with Mubarak’s regime,” while publicly attacking both the Brotherhood and Mohamed Morsi.

As the June 30, 2013, protests approached, Abdel Rahman voiced his support for the movement and Morsi’s removal. When his father opposed him, Abdel Rahman responded with an article titled Sorry, My Dear Father… Morsi Has No Legitimacy, published on July 7, 2013, on several platforms.

According to Abdel Hadi, after failing in his various ventures, Abdel Rahman resumed the role of “the sheikh’s son,” publicly opposing the violent dispersal of the Rabaa sit-in and rejoining his father in public gatherings to send a symbolic message.

The article also mentions that Abdel Rahman abandoned his previous criticisms of the Brotherhood and joined a Brotherhood-affiliated TV channel as a presenter. Later, he aligned himself with Ayman Nour. Abdel Hadi claimed to have confronted al-Qaradawi senior about his son’s behavior, sparking the father’s anger. Sami Kamal El-Din, a friend of Abdel Hadi, reportedly witnessed this confrontation.

Lastly, Abdel Hadi discussed Abdel Rahman’s contradictory stances on injustices faced by employees at Ayman Nour’s channels. While feigning support for the employees, Abdel Rahman allegedly accused them of being spies to protect his own interests. After failing in several media endeavors, he resorted to posting videos on social media, using vulgar language to attack Arab leaders and officials.
