UAE initiatives inspire the world on the first international day of human fraternity


As recognition of the UAE’s historic decision to accept the signing of the Human Brotherhood Document
the world celebrates for the first time this Thursday the international day of human fraternity
after the adoption, by the United Nations General Assembly, last December
A joint decision declaring February 4 as “International Day of Human Fraternity”
in response to an initiative presented by the United Arab Emirates in cooperation with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt
The decision came in recognition of the historic step that Abu Dhabi did on February 4, 2019
and with its efforts to welcome the signing of the historic document of human fraternity
that was signed by Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar
and his Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church
and under the high patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abou Dabi
Indeed, the document on the human fraternity establishes a new constitution for a peaceful coexistence which unites the East and the West
and comprises a number of constants and values
noting the values of peace, the culture of tolerance and the protection of worship places
also the freedom of belief and the propagation of the principles and concept of citizenship
UN decision is global recognition of the authenticity of the Emirati vision
that saw in human fraternity a means of stabilizing the world and avoiding conflicts
It also affirms that UAE initiatives to diffuse values of tolerance and support religious freedoms
are always presented as models who inspire the world
