A Major Scandal Rocks the Houthi Leader

An international report has exposed the corruption of the leader of the Houthi terrorist militia, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, and his involvement in smuggling $35 billion to Iran.

Experts from the United Nations Security Council Sanctions Committee stated in a recent report that these funds, transferred to Iran in foreign currency, originate from oil revenues entering through the port of Hodeidah in western Yemen, as well as from zakat, taxes, telecommunications, customs, and levies imposed on citizens in Houthi-controlled areas, according to Al-Muntasaf Net.

Another recent report by the UN Security Council’s panel of experts confirmed that the transfer of various military equipment and technology to the Houthis from external sources, along with the financial support and training provided to their fighters, is unprecedented in terms of scale, nature, and scope.

The report also revealed coordination between the Houthi militia and the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda in Yemen and Somalia.

Furthermore, it highlighted that the Houthis rely on illegal measures to generate funds, such as exploiting the telecommunications sector and the oil trade.
