Military innovations have always been an integral part of war strategies throughout history, and today, they are evident in many modern conflicts.

In Russia, where the ongoing war with Ukraine has been raging since February 2022, tactical adaptations and technological advancements have continued to emerge.

In this regard, “Russia Today” reported, citing the newspaper “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”, that some Russian forces have modified AK-306 machine gun systems by mounting them on military trucks to counter Ukrainian drones.

The newspaper stated that these trucks, of the KamAZ-5350 type, operate with a 6×6 drive system. The goal is to create a mobile air defense system capable of handling various types of drones.

Originally, the AK-306 system was developed to be mounted on warships and military boats.

As for the machine gun itself, it is equipped with six barrels with a 30mm caliber.
