Russia works on Saudi Green Initiative

The CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Kirill Dmitriev, declared that Russia would continue the work on enhancing its strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia in many fields, including the Green Initiative.

Dmitriev said when he spoke to Asharq Al-Awsat that he was fascinated by the Saudi Green Initiative that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman presented on Tuesday.

He also indicated that RDIF, Russia’s sovereign fund, cooperates with the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and other investors to execute many main projects linked to the project.

Dmitriev affirmed that Saudi Arabia stills Russia’s international strategic partner, and it is looking forward to new investment agreements with the PIF and other Saudi partners, including Aramco, in the areas of energy, health care, technology, and agriculture. He also noted that via its partnership with the PIF, the RDIF launched investments value of more than $2.6 billion in more than 30 projects.

In fact, the Russian Fund collaborates with the Saudi Fund on many mega projects, including Saudi Aramco, SABIC, and Salic, as well as investments with other Saudi partners in 25 new investment projects in several fields like petrochemicals, infrastructure, agriculture, and technology.

Dmitriev also showed that the areas of partnership between the two countries comprise other important initiatives such as the program to reinforce partnership with the private sector that would attract additional capital to the Saudi economy and guarantee further development in future investments.
