Yemen: Latest developments in Shabwah bombing


The Coalition for the Support of Legitimacy in Yemen announced the destruction of airplane storage facilities and launchers at a camp controlled by Iran-backed Houthi militias in Sana’a.

The Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency: “In response to the threat, we conducted airstrikes on legitimate military targets in Sana’a”, he said, noting that four barricades and launchers had been destroyed at the military transport brigade camp.

The operation is in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules, the coalition said, adding that preventive measures have been taken to spare civilians and civilian objects collateral damage.

Earlier, the Arab coalition announced the interception and destruction of three drones that were fired at southern Saudi Arabia.

The coalition said it had spotted threats from drones in Sanaa.

It added: “In response to the threat, we conduct intelligence surveillance and operational preparation for air strikes”.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that the coalition forces carried out 23 targeting operations against the Houthis in Marib province in the last 24 hours, confirming that the coalition forces destroyed 17 military vehicles and eliminated more than 160 Houthis.

In a related context, the governor of Shabwah, Awadh Mohamed AL-Awlaki, announced yesterday the success of the army and the forces of the giants and the resistance, supported by the Alliance to Support Legitimacy, by liberating the district of Usaylan in Shabwah from the Iranian-backed Houthi coup militia.

He said that the progress on the ground comes as part of a large-scale military operation to liberate Beihan district, which include Usaylan, Beihan and Ain from the remnants of the Houthi militias.

The governor of Shabwah confirmed that Houthi militias had fled following fierce battles, praising the determination and high morale of the Assyrian fighters to continue fighting and liberate the districts of Beihan and Ain from the coup militia, Yemen Arab reported.

Gen. Abu Zraa al-Mahrami, commander of the giants’ brigades, announced the liberation of Usaylan district in Shabwah province, southeast Yemen.

The center of Usaylan district was taken over after fierce battles with Houthi militias, which left the latter dead, wounded and sustained material losses.
