The organized Houthi crime took place in the district of Harf Sufyan in the province of Amran, northern Yemen, after citizens found skeletal remains of residents from the district who had been kidnapped by the Houthi militias in 2010 and forcibly hidden from their families.
Yemeni human rights sources have confirmed the discovery of skeletal remains of individuals who were kidnapped by the Houthis in one of the caves in the province of Amran, 13 years after their abduction.
The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms stated in a series of tweets on its social media account that the residents found skeletal remains, with bound hands, belonging to the kidnapped individuals in one of the caves that had been sealed with stones and mud.
It mentioned that a number of bodies were found buried in a cave in the Harf Sufyan district, consisting of 16 individuals from the region who were kidnapped by the Houthi militias in 2010 during their conflict with local tribes.
The network also published the names of the 16 kidnapped individuals who were found, including tribal leader Saleh bin Nasser Khamousi, Saleh Mohsen Saleh Jamilah, Hadi Saleh Jamilah, Hamid Ali Dajran, Amin Saleh Ghayeb Dajran, Qaid Saleh Dajran, Bakil Hadi Ali Laki, Hadi Ahmed Hamoud Al-Mawj, Hamid Hadi Shibban, Abdullah Hadi Shibban, Saleh Abdullah Shibban, Mohammed Hadi Shibban, Baqi bin Baqi Dawi, Qaid Qadir Ali Manjad, Yahya Hadi Mahfal, Ghailan Saleh Ghailan.
Local and media sources have confirmed that the skeletal remains were found with bound hands, indicating that the kidnapped individuals were subjected to torture and cold-blooded murder.
The families of the victims have called for an international investigation into this humanitarian massacre, which adds to the series of crimes committed by the Houthi militias against civilians, and for holding the perpetrators accountable.
This heinous crime is added to the series of terrorist crimes committed by the Houthi militias against prisoners and kidnapped individuals. The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights recently documented over 350 cases of torture-related deaths out of a total of 1,635 cases of torture in Houthi detention centers.
