A Houthi field commander was killed by the southern forces in Dhale

The Southern Resistance in Yemen announced on Thursday that it had overthrown a senior Houthi field commander while he was visiting the frontlines of Dhale.

Southern Resistance sniper units stationed on the frontline of Dhale governorate (south) carried out various operations, killing and injuring several members of the Houthi militia supported by Iran.

In a statement, the Dhale Military Center said sniper units from the Southern Resistance “managed to target a number of Houthi militia members in more than one combat sector, killing and wounding a number of them, including a senior field commander”.

“A prominent militia field commander was on a mission to inspect the frontlines in the Shamariya-Batar sector before he was spotted and directly targeted by a sniper operation, killing him right away”, it said.

The statement did not mention the leader’s name, but it did confirm that “the Houthi leader returns to the town of Al-Shamariya in the Al-Husha District in Dhale, and is a descendant of the Al-Fatehi family. The terrorist militias intended to promote him to the rank of commander, as the highest level of leadership that the militias give to their field commanders”.

The Southern Resistance continues to engage in qualitative operations on more than one combat axis, extending the theater of operations in Maris, Fakhir, Hajar, and Tursa, and inflicting heavy losses on Houthi militias in lives and materiel.
