Al-Eryani: Intransigence and failure of Jordan negotiations confirms Houthi rejection of peace
Yemen has asserted that the intransigence of Houthi militias, their refusal to open roads, and the facilitation of civilian movement have discredited the long-held lie of the blockade to mislead the international community.
Yemeni Minister of Information and Culture Muammar al-Eryani said Houthi’s refusal to implement the terms of the UN truce and the failure of the two rounds of negotiations in Jordan clearly revealed who is responsible for the human tragedy in Yemen and who is cutting off the country and besieging millions of Taiz people
Al-Eryani called on the international community and the United Nations to shoulder their responsibilities towards the Houthi intransigence, exert real pressure to force the militias to engage in the path of peace-building in good faith, accept the UN envoy’s proposals on opening the main roads in Taiz, and stop pursuing a policy of starvation and collective punishment.
In a series of tweets on his Twitter account, Al-Eryani said that the Houthi terrorist militias have not only shirked their obligations under the truce, but have exploited it to regroup, send military reinforcements, including children, and create earth barriers, trenches, and barricades in various Taiz fronts.
Al-Eryani said the moves underscore the lack of seriousness on the part of the Houthi terrorist militia to engage in pacification efforts and bring peace to Yemen and put an end to the humanitarian suffering that has been mounting since the outbreak of the war triggered by the coup.
Al-Eryani said the militias are using India as an opportunity to breathe life, compensate for their human losses, and regroup in preparation for a new round.
