Al-Houthi steals Sanaa businessman’s money… property or Mossad?

A prominent Yemeni businessman has complained that Houthi militias looted his property as “fugitives from justice” and fabricated charges of spying for the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad to force him to give it up.

The Houthi militia issued (illegal) judicial orders to confiscate the property of businessman Mohammed Yahya al-Hayfi after he was framed for “spying with the Israeli Mossad.”

“Although al-Hayfi was continually present at the Houthi court hearings and had no criminal case, the court considered him a fugitive from justice, in an unprecedented farce.”

Al-Hayfi businessman was supposed to be arrested, but Houthi militias only stole his money, which confirms that the accusations are a hollow excuse to rob Yemeni businessmen.

Homeless merchant

Al-Hayfi appeared in a video recording monitored by Al-Ain News, pleading with coup leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi to stop militia leaders from looting his money and property.

The businessman said that the Houthi leaders accused him that his house they seized belonged to Yemeni Vice President Ali Mohsen, and also that it was the residence of the US ambassador to justify the looting.

Al-Hayfi said that he became homeless inside Sanaa after the Houthis froze his assets, accusing 3 leaders of the coup militias of storming and robbing his house and continuing to displace him and his children.

Ready-made accusations

Lawyer Abdulbaset Ghazi, who is handling the case, explained that the Houthis had seized his client’s home after they took over Sanaa under the pretext that it belonged to the US ambassador.

After a lengthy judicial battle, the documents of the property were shown and the court determined that the house belonged to him, the court ordered the judicial guard to evacuate the house and hand it over to the owner, he said.

However, the Houthi-appointed judicial guard was replaced by other gunmen led by another Houthi, Amin Jassar, the lawyer said.

He added that after his client attended several court sessions to follow up on his case, and after appointing a new judicial guard, the surprise came when a decision was issued to reject the grievance and confiscate the rest of the property under the pretext of employment for the Mossad.

Counsel commented on the decision : “Hand over your house or you are a Mosadite, I think the people are all out and the Houthis rule themselves. As we go out we look for land in Africa or the frozen ocean.”

Al-Hayfi owns a number of companies, including an agency for telecommunications companies, cars and contractors. He is one of many businessmen who have been looted and their property confiscated by the Houthis.

Black economy

Al-Houthi militias have established a “judicial guard” system to legitimize the systematic and widespread looting and laundering of Yemeni wealth and property, which they accuse of “treason”, and commissioned Saleh Misfir al-Shaer to account for it.

The Houthi leader is the wanted “Al-Shaer ” No. 35 on the list of the Arab coalition, the economic arm of the Houthi leader, and the architect of a hidden financial empire that invests in tens of billions of dollars looted to finance the war.

Al-Shaer was chosen for this mission because of his terrorist role as a cross-border arms dealer and because he masterminded arms smuggling deals with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, according to military sources and Yemeni experts who spoke to Al-Ain News.

The militias are seeking to transform the “judiciary guard” into an economic system that emulates the Iranian model of the “Bonyad‑e Mostazafen” foundation, which was built on the ruins of the Shah’s assets and properties after the 1979 revolution and became Khamenei’s largest hidden capital.
