Al-Jazeera promotes lies to stop Qatari aid to the Turkish regime
Doha continues to promote lies and allegations to protect the regime’s own interests, which it disseminates through its media arms and strongly supports outside amid the marginalization of facts.
Claims of Erdogan’s visit
In a report entitled “No indication of increased Qatari aid to Turkey after Erdogan’s visit”, Al Jazeera claimed that Doha would not pump more money to Ankara; although Ankara always puts its eyes on Qatar’s coffers and has raised its economic problems and appeared in next year’s new budget.
A statement Tuesday said that the Turkish president concluded his visit to Qatar after signing 15 agreements in areas ranging from media to disaster management and pledged to “explore further ways” to strengthen economic ties and financial coordination.
The $15 billion deal
The claim comes despite a joint statement by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani that Qatar agreed to extend the currency swap agreement with Turkey, which Doha tripled to $15 billion last year.
The agreement aims to boost Turkey’s foreign reserves and stabilize the lira. The statement did not mention an increase in direct financial assistance.
Turkey’s Foreign Minister said in press statements on Monday that Ankara has no plans to ask Doha for financial assistance, while his Qatari counterpart said Doha is considering opportunities arising from Turkey’s economic challenges.
“Qatar has strong ties with Turkey, where non-Arab Turkey has a military base in Qatar, among other points of contention including regional conflicts and armed groups”.
In a speech, Erdogan said: “We do not separate the security and stability of Qatar from the security of our country”, he said, referring to Doha’s contributions to “Turkish investment, employment, production and export-oriented growth”.
These lies come despite the signing of dozens of agreements by Turkey and Qatar on Monday on the sidelines of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Doha, while the father of the Emir of Qatar, Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, invited Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is visiting his country, to a dinner banquet in his honor, which witnessed many secret talks, to support terrorist relations between the two countries, and to pump money to support the collapsed Turkish lira, which reached its lowest level.
