Among them is an intelligence officer.. Arrest of Brotherhood in Sudan

The Committee to Dismantle the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan announced, Sunday, the arrest of Brotherhood members belonging to the party of deposed President Omar El Bechir.

The Sudanese Public Prosecution has filed criminal proceedings against these Muslim Brotherhood elements on charges of terrorism and undermining the constitutional order.

The Brotherhood members were arrested over the past two days by the prosecution of the committee to dismantle the terrorist group, after they were involved in activities targeting the stability of Sudan and in planning a chaotic plan to be implemented on June 30, the anniversary of the rise of this organization to power by a military coup.

The Committee for the Dismantling of the Muslim Brotherhood System in Sudan said in a press release that the specialized prosecution ordered the arrest of a group of remnants of the dissolved party “active in planning to cause chaos, violence and riots by exploiting the expected peaceful processions on June 30 and undermining the constitutional order.”

The statement noted that the Public Prosecution opened cases against the detainees in accordance with Articles (13) and (14) of the Law on the Dismantling of the System of June 30, 1989 and the Removal of Empowerment, Article (50) of the Criminal Code on undermining the constitutional order, and Articles (6/5) of the Anti-Terrorism Law.”

The committee “followed up on the movement of the isolated regime’s employees in the capital and the Sudanese states and was able to reach them through investigations, close monitoring and reliable information,” the statement said.

The statement stressed that the arrest was made by the police under arrest warrants issued by the Sudanese Public Prosecution Service, and the pursuit of the remaining defendants who are facing arrest warrants under criminal proceedings pending before the Disengagement Prosecution Service.”

The Brotherhood’s newly arrested remnants include Bashir’s intelligence officer, Muhammad Hamid Tebidi, who was the press’s foremost enemy, overseeing the monitoring and punishment of newspapers by confiscating printed copies and detaining and arresting journalists.

A Brotherhood activist, Al-Numan, was also arrested, along with Mohannad Al-Sheikh, one of the supervisors of the so-called “green march” Brotherhood demonstrations, which failed to reach their intended target.

And at the end of last week, the dismantling committee revealed a plan of the brotherhood that aims to sow chaos and stability of the strike, to be implemented on June 30, the anniversary of the arrival in power of the organization during a coup three decades ago.

“Days ago, the authorities in Khartoum accused the remnants of the Muslim Brotherhood of being behind the slippery security incidents that took place in a number of Sudanese cities, under the cover of protests against economic measures applied by the government.”

The Regional Authority decided to form a joint force of army, rapid support, police, intelligence, prosecution and peace parties to control security and resolve the country’s conflicts.

The dismantling committee, whose full name is the “Committee for the Dismantling of the June 30 Regime and the Elimination of Empowerment,” was formed two years ago in accordance with the provisions of the constitutional document that laid out the demands of the revolution. It dealt painful blows during this period to the terrorist regime on the economic and political levels.
