An official reveals details of Israeli ship attacked in the Indian Ocean
An Israeli security official confirmed, Sunday, that the ship that was attacked in the Indian Ocean might have been attacked by an Iranian drone or special force.
In press statements, the official explained that “there were no human casualties as a result of the attack on the ship in the Indian Ocean,” adding that “material damage was minor.”
An Israeli merchant vessel was attacked in the northern Indian Ocean, causing a fire on board.
Israeli media said that a ship owned by an Israeli businessman was attacked in the Indian Ocean, without knowing the reasons or casualties.
Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot reported : “No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Israel believes that Iran is responsible.”
“The announcement by the Hizbullah-backed al-Mayadeen television station means that Iran is behind the attack,” she said.
“The ship is not registered as Israeli, but belongs to an Israeli businessman and its foreign crew,” the Public Broadcasting Corporation said.
News Station 12 said that the ship was owned by Israeli businessman Eyal Ofer, also known as “Tyndall,” and was sailing under a Liberian flag. The crew is not Israeli and there were no casualties in its ranks.
