The Al-Amana newspaper reported numerous accounts of children being imprisoned. One witness stated that the Muslim Brotherhood, which controls security in the Jabal Habashi area, recently imprisoned a 13-year-old child on charges of “sympathizing with the Houthis.” However, this child is entirely unaware of the accusations against him. The security director even signed a report preventing the student from taking his school exams, leaving him behind bars.

Another witness from the Al-Bariha area reported that the Muslim Brotherhood arrested a Yemeni citizen and imprisoned him because of words spoken by his 9-year-old daughter.

The witness said, “He was arrested by the unjust authorities of the Muslim Brotherhood under the pretext that he was inciting violence or provocation. In reality, these actions reveal a weakness in managing affairs and an inability to address real challenges. Imprisoning innocent people will not solve problems but will increase societal tensions.”

The witness concluded, “We must be the voice for the voiceless and reject injustice in all its forms. Imprisoning children is contrary to human and moral values.”
