Death Threats against Yemeni Journalist for Exposing the Brotherhood’s Terrorism… Details

Yemeni journalist Ghadir Al-Sharabi, whose father was killed by a leader of the Al-Islah party, “the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen,” has announced that she and her family are receiving death threats for demanding justice for her father’s killer.

In a video shared on social media, she stated that the security forces in Taiz are manipulating the case and covering up for the perpetrator responsible for the murder of her father, Saif Al-Sharabi.

Al-Sharabi explained that since her father’s murder, she and her family have faced severe threats that prevent them from leaving their home without security escorts and tribal guards. She also spoke of the stress and anxiety she has endured since the tragedy.

She accused the security authorities in Taiz of failing to arrest the murderer, Walid Shaala, who is being protected by military forces affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood. According to her, there are efforts to de-escalate the situation and calm public outrage.

Al-Sharabi called on the country’s leadership to intervene and pressure those involved in shielding the killer, demanding his immediate arrest and trial.

Sources in Taiz disclosed that mercenaries linked to the Muslim Brotherhood continue to protect the killers of a Yemeni citizen, who was murdered in front of his home by an armed gang associated with the Taiz military command.

These sources told Aden Time that influential figures within the Taiz military command, dominated by the Al-Islah party to which the perpetrators belong, are working to undermine the case and protect the mercenary Walid Kamel, known as “Shaala.” He reportedly shot Saif Hamoud Faraj Al-Sharabi in front of his home, killing him instantly, before fleeing to seek shelter with military leaders affiliated with the Brotherhood’s militias.
