Defense Committee for Belaid and Brahmi Files formal charges against Ghannouchi – Details

A new step by the Tunisian judiciary reveals the gradual fall of the leader of the Renaissance Muslim Brotherhood, Rached Ghannouchi, and confirms the imminent end of his escape from accusations related to national security and assassinations.

Iman Qazara, a lawyer and member of the defense committee for the two martyrs, Chokri Belaid and Mohamed Brahmi, announced that Ghannouchi has been formally charged with crimes related to attacks on state security, according to Attessia Channel.

During a press conference held by the Authority today, Qazara explained that Rached Ghannouchi hired a group of judges to his benefit, and he has been mistaken for the Tunisian people for years, confirming that after three and a half years, the Authority was able to guarantee the right of litigation, which is the official indictment of Rached Ghannouchi for crimes related to assaulting state security.

Kathir Boualaq, a member of the Committee for the Defense of Martyrs, said during the seminar: There have been many delays in the file of the martyr Brahmi for about a year and a half, the most prominent of which is the failure of the Ministry of the Interior to implement the 17 preparatory judgments issued in the file.

According to Radio Mosaic FM, Boualaq held the responsibility of the disruption of the case of the martyr Brahmi to the Ministry of Interior in the person of the current minister, hinting at prosecution; Because of what he considered to be unjustified failure to implement the preparatory provisions.

Internal demands to remove Ghannouchi… The story of the Tunisian Brothers draws to a close

Tunisian authorities imposed the travel ban on Ghannouchi last Friday. Observers considered it to be proof of the claims made by the defense team of Chokri Belaid and Brahmi, who were assassinated in 2013, regarding the secret service of the Brotherhood and its involvement in the assassination.

Last December, the Minister of Justice, Leïla Jaffel, ordered the reopening of an investigation and follow-up on the file of the secret service of the Brotherhood, and a number of people, for crimes related to state security, espionage and penetration of Tunisian state institutions. The decision comes after a complaint by the Body for the Defense of Politicians; left-wing leader Chokri Belaid and nationalist leader Mohamed Brahmi.
