Dissident Muslim Brotherhood member: The group is facing major crises and confusion amid the Turkish-Egyptian rapprochement
Steps to restore normal relations between Egypt and Turkey are accelerating to eliminate the hopes of the Muslim Brotherhood to gain a place in the future. Turkish Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu’s visit to Egypt recently inaugurated a new path on the path to restore normal relations between the two countries, in addition to “launching an in-depth dialog on various aspects of bilateral relations and regional and international issues of common interest, with the aim of reaching a common understanding that would serve the interests of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
Main Damaged
Dr. Ibrahim Rabie, a leading Muslim Brotherhood defector, says that the Muslim Brotherhood organization is the main victim of the Turkish-Egyptian rapprochement, and that since the beginning of the reconciliation project which the Turkish side initiated, first with conservative steps, then with broader and clearer procedures, the Brotherhood organization has dealt with this issue in two ways in order to disrupt these movements; But he failed both.
Floundering and crises
The Brotherhood leader added that the terrorist group is facing a state of floundering and crisis, especially since this rapprochement has caused great panic and anxiety among the Brotherhood, and that some of them began fleeing Turkey in order to face any coming dangers. He noted that the Egyptian state has proven to the whole world that its will is strong, pointing out that the terrorist groups that Turkey has supported over the past years have negatively affected relations between it and the countries of the region, which is currently being corrected.
He continued, “The process of restoring normal relations between Egypt and Turkey will undoubtedly harm the interests of the organization, which has completely failed to be a tool to pressure Egypt; These countries have finally realized that the interests of peoples and states require that these groups be put in their place and of the size they deserve, without playing any role, whether local or regional.
