Fouad Siniora: Lebanon’s crises need everyone to unite
The crises in Lebanon continue to worsen, especially in light of the current constitutional vacuum in the country. The crises vary between political and economic, and Prime Minister Najib Mikati and former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and Tammam Salam held a meeting to discuss the current situation in the country in all its aspects.
Concerted effort
Fouad Siniora, former Prime Minister of Lebanon, said the world is witnessing a large number of major shocks, transformations and major economic and political challenges, which have significantly affected the internal situation in Lebanon. He added that the country is living in a vacuum after the end of Michel Aoun’s mandate.
Former Lebanese Prime Minister added: The current situation in Lebanon, especially the economic, financial and living collapse, is currently shaking the country, in light of the delay in the process of electing the new President of the Republic, which requires all efforts to be combined without looking at any political differences now.
Tunnel exit
Siniora added that the government of Najib Mikati is currently doing its business, but it is operating in a presidential vacuum and in very difficult times that the country is going through, stressing that no matter what the efforts of the interim government, it will not be able to get Lebanon out of this dark tunnel, without all parties joining forces to choose a president and then a government to run its affairs to face the current crises that threaten the future of the state, at a time when the world is suffering from unprecedented crises.
