Gallant Knight 2 : UAE offers a model of support
As part of its efforts to mitigate the effects of the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria, the United Arab Emirates search and rescue team, Operation “The Gallant Knight 2”, has continued its relief work in Turkey and Syria. This aid continues the humanitarian approach undertaken by the State in assisting our brothers in times of crisis and disasters.
Continuous assistance
According to reports, the UAE has been ranked first in the world in terms of foreign aid for years, targeting a list of Arab, Asian, African, and Western countries. This is in view of the darkest conditions and crises in various countries, as the UAE has become a symbol of good and generosity in the world and a prominent mark in the field of humanitarian action at the regional and international levels. In every problem or humanitarian crisis in any part of the world, its white hands are the first to offer assistance to those who need it, in any spot where the human soul is afflicted with destitution and urgent need, regardless of geographical distance or religious, ethnic or cultural difference. This has earned it international respect and appreciation and placed it within the system of the world’s benevolent powers.
Human trend
UAE economist and researcher Nael Al-Jawabra says: The humanitarian orientation of the UAE is not new. It is an authentic and consistent approach to its foreign policy since the era of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and it was strengthened and developed during the era of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, the President of the State, and after him Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed .
In order to ensure the continuity of this humanitarian role, the State of Qatar has established many institutions whose humanitarian role has become universal in every sense of the word, he added, which distinguishes the humanitarian approach of the United Arab Emirates, in addition to being of a universal nature, based on purely humanitarian considerations dictated by the authentic nature of the Emirati people and their wise, benevolent and giving-loving leadership, which happened in the crisis that Turkey and Syria are going through following the devastating earthquake.
Leading role
Dr. Ghassan Youssef, a Syrian political analyst, said, “We commend the efforts of many Arab countries, led by the UAE, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, to express support for the relief of the Syrian people.”
He added: We especially thank the United Arab Emirates for its pioneering role in the relief of the Syrian people, pointing out that the operation “The Gallant Knight 2” like its name reflects the leaders of the Emirates and its generous people, and the size of the bilateral relations between the two countries, represented in sending aid immediately after the earthquake, pointing out that the UAE, with its strong presence in various crises and disasters, has proven that it is qualified to play a leading global role in this field.
