Gargash says peaceful settlement of Yemen crisis necessary


Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE president, stressed the need to work towards a peaceful settlement of the Yemeni crisis.

Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash called on US Special Envoy to Yemen Tim Lenderking to promote a permanent ceasefire in Yemen during his meeting on Friday.

He stressed the importance of international efforts to find a peaceful solution to end the Yemeni crisis and put an end to the human suffering of the Yemeni people.

During the meeting, Dr. Gargash praised the efforts made by the United States and the international community on the Yemeni crisis, stressing the need to work on a peaceful settlement of the crisis and to strengthen the chances of a permanent ceasefire to pave the way for a comprehensive political solution.

He said the international community must encourage all Yemeni parties to engage in serious dialog to end the war, end Yemen’s crisis and spare the Yemeni people from the human suffering they have endured for years.

Dr. Anwar Gargash expressed the UAE’s support for the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Presidential Command Council in Yemen to establish peace in a way that ensures stability and prosperity in Yemen.

The UAE President’s advisor briefed the US envoy on the efforts being made by Washington to end the Yemeni crisis and enhance the chances of reaching a comprehensive political solution, praising the role played by envoy Tim Lenderking in this regard.

For his part, the US envoy praised the efforts made by the UAE to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and support all efforts made by various regional and international parties to end the war in Yemen.
