Ghannouchi’s son-in-law incites against the Tunisian army… What is the new plan of the Ennahdha movement?

After all of Ennahdha’s bets failed to derail the Tunisian state, the terrorist group is trying to break the army and the security establishment in order to implement its Brotherhood agendas by inciting them on a continuous basis.

Incitement

Rafik Abdessalem, the son-in-law of Rached Ghannouchi, the leader of the Ennahdha Movement of the Muslim Brotherhood, said in a post on his official Facebook page that he criticized the roles of the Tunisian army, questioned its patriotism, and accused its generals of not being impartial and interfering in politics by supporting President Kais Saied “to tighten his grip on power.”

Ghannouchi’s son-in-law said: “His neutrality and distance from politics is a big lie”, and he also described it as a “coup”, in a position that he and Ennahdha presented to him was a wave of great criticism and aroused wide discontent among Tunisians, and was considered a declaration of war by the Brotherhood on the military institution.

The post prompted Tunisians to recall a statement made by Rached Ghannouchi in 2012, in which he said: “The army is not guaranteed, and the police are not,” arguing that his son-in-law’s position on the army is an expression of Ennahdha’s ideology.

Tunisian anger

Afaf Ayoub, a Tunisian activist, replied in a blog post, denouncing Rafik Abdessalem’s stance and said: “It is a clear assault on the Tunisian army, which she described as the pride and pride of the country.”

Activist Maher Abbassi accused Rafik Abdessalem of trying to sow discord, writing: “The army is carrying out the orders of the head of state without debate in accordance with the constitution and is subject to the law, and should not be dragged into the political battle between Ennahdha and President Kais Saied; because he has protected the country since the fall of the regime of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali and refused to take power.”

A threat to the country

Mondher Guefrach, a Tunisian political analyst, says: Incitement is the fundamentals of the Muslim Brotherhood. Rached Ghannouchi, the leader of the Ennahdha Muslim Brotherhood movement, went out to threaten his country and its people after Kais Saied’s decisions. He even threatened Europe that the terrorist threat would escalate and then instability would force people to leave. There are more than 500,000 potential migrants who would head to the Italian coast in a short time. It is not new for them to incite against the security institutions of the state after the failure of their previous attempts.

Ennahdha does not believe in a state of law and institutions, the Tunisian political analyst said, adding that holding Ennahdha MPs accountable has become a popular demand.
