Hemetti Launches Harsh Attack on Al-Burhan and the Muslim Brotherhood… Speaks on Crisis with Egypt

In his first public appearance among his forces in the border triangle area, Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as “Hemetti,” delivered a scathing critique of the Islamic Movement, referring to the Muslim Brotherhood as a “gang” that controls political and military decisions and exploits the country’s resources for its own agenda, according to Sudanile.
Hemetti also lashed out at army chief Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, stating that the ongoing crisis with the military leadership stems from its alliance with Islamist factions. He revealed that he had previously opposed the dissolution of the national security apparatus — a stance allegedly confirmed by former Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok — but claimed he was deceived.
In his speech before RSF troops, Hemetti declared: “They buy drones and weapons with our own oil to strike us… but now we have a different stance,” implying a reconsideration of economic and sovereign matters that were previously handled with leniency or neglect.
In a notable shift in his regional rhetoric, Hemetti announced that the RSF had revised its position regarding relations with Egypt. “The problems with Egypt were sown by criminals. We have re-evaluated things, and these issues must be resolved through dialogue and negotiation, not confrontation,” he said.
He further asserted that his forces — currently in control of the border triangle connecting Sudan, Egypt, Libya, and Chad — are working to secure the region, which he described as a “hotbed of terrorism, crime, and drug trafficking.” He emphasized that their presence is not directed against neighboring states but should be seen as a security asset, not a threat.
