How did Ennahdha’s secret service expose the Brotherhood’s plans? Experts answer
The case of the secret service of the Tunisian Renaissance Movement broke out in October 2018, when the defense team for the assassination of Brahmi and Belaid revealed the existence of documents and evidence indicating that Ennahdha had a secret security apparatus parallel to the state, involved in the assassination of opponents, espionage and penetration of state institutions and prosecution of opponents of the party.
However, the judiciary has not yet decided on this case. Last August, the Tunisian authorities arrested a number of former security officials and members of Ennahdha on charges related to the travel of Tunisian extremists to fight in Syria, including Mohamed Frikha, a former leader of Ennahdha and owner of a private airline. For their part, the Tunisian authorities announced the postponement of hearing the President of the Ennahdha Movement, Rached Ghannouchi, until this afternoon in the case, which is known in the media as “Deportation of Youth to Hotbeds of Tension.” At the time, Samir Dilou, the Attorney-General for Ghannouchi, the lawyer, said that the public prosecution in Tunisia decided to postpone hearing the president of the Ennahdha Movement in a case related to terrorism, until midday after 12 hours of waiting, after hearing Ali Larayedh, the deputy of Ghannouchi in the movement and former Prime Minister in the same case.
Hazem Al-Qasouri, a Tunisian political and legal researcher, pointed out that this secret terrorist organization benefited from the dismantling of the state security apparatus and the referral of its best men to transitional justice through fabricated files, adding in statements that its purpose was to distort this national apparatus that tracked traitors across the world to protect Tunisia and its national security through its hawks across the world who struck with a new hand by the secret apparatus throughout the world, Sudan, Afghanistan and all the areas of confrontation in defense of Tunisia, adding that the secret apparatus of the Brotherhood played a prominent role in the assassinations, in addition to other roles, foremost of which is the Tunisian youth to provide the hotbeds of danger in the world. Forced route
“The current government is obligated to settle all outstanding issues, especially those that have affected the security and lives of Tunisians, such as youth bombings, terrorism and political assassinations,” said Mohsen al-Nabati, a Tunisian political analyst.
The Tunisian political analyst added that Ennahdha has turned Tunisia in recent years into a platform for mobilizing terrorists through its advocacy apparatus, which worked to brainwash young people before facilitating their travel to hotbeds of tension in Syria and Libya to support terrorist organizations, foremost among them Al-Qaeda and ISIS.
