‘Impunity is unacceptable’ – Tunisia’s president calls for applying the law on everyone

Tunisian President Kais Saied stressed on Friday the need to apply the law to everyone, saying impunity for the actions is unacceptable.

This came during Kais Saied’s reception at the Carthage Palace of Najla Bouden Romdane, the Tunisian Prime Minister.

The meeting dealt with government work and the functioning of a number of public services such as education, health and other sectors.

In this context, the President of Tunisia stressed the need to apply the law to all, because the law was drafted and will be drafted in the name of the people and in the interest of the people.

“It is regrettable that the procedures were concealed and extended,” he said. “A number of issues remain pending for years, while the procedures are clear, and there cannot be procedures for other categories and categories.”

The Tunisian president also pointed out that “it is unacceptable to send to prison those who report corruption and who get away with any punishment.”

The meeting also touched on the celebration of Women’s Day, and reiterated that “there will be no prejudice to the gains of women, on the contrary, they must be supported, especially in the economic and social fields.”
