In cooperation with the UAE, Egypt declares the success of efforts to secure the safety of the rest of its soldiers in Sudan


The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), announced on Thursday the success of efforts to ensure the safety of the remaining Egyptian soldiers in Sudan, in a statement published on its official Facebook page.

“The Arab Republic of Egypt announced the success of its efforts, in coordination and cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, to secure the safety of the remaining Egyptian soldiers in the Republic of Sudan with the Rapid Support Forces and to hand them over to the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Khartoum,” the ministry said in a statement. The two brotherly countries expressed their appreciation to the International Red Cross for its efforts in supporting the process of ensuring the safety of the Egyptian soldiers.”

The Foreign Ministries of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates said that this step comes within the framework of the position of the two countries in support of the truce through continuous communication with the Sudanese parties to ensure restraint, stop escalation and return to the political track.

“The two ministries affirmed the commitment of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates to continue their efforts aimed at ending the fighting and protecting civilians and civilian facilities, stressing the importance of intensifying efforts aimed at returning to the political framework and dialog to resolve all differences and move forward in the transitional phase to reach the desired political and security stability in Sudan, ” it added.

For its part, the UAE announced in a statement the success of its mediation in coordination and cooperation with the Arab Republic of Egypt to ensure the safety of Egyptian soldiers in the Rapid Support Forces and their handover to the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Khartoum. “The two brotherly countries expressed their appreciation to the International Red Cross for its efforts in supporting the process of securing the safety of Egyptian soldiers,” the official WAM agency reported.
