Iran prepares for rocket launch… details

Satellite images show Iran’s willingness to launch a space flight and place a rocket on a launcher at Khomeini port in Semnan Province.

Satellite imagery has detected increased activity in the port of Khomeini as preparations for a rocket launch, and tensions are rising between Tehran and Western countries over Iran’s nuclear program, CNN reported.

Satellite images released by Maxar Technologies show a rocket launcher at the port. The company said the images “reveal increased activity at and near the launcher”, adding: “There is a missile on a tanker at the launcher itself, ready to be installed with a heavy lift”.

Earlier this month, Iranian Space Agency spokesman Ahmad Hosseini said on state television: They’re finishing launching a satellite launch vehicle soon.

Iran said in December that it had successfully launched a satellite carrier and three research equipment, according to the Iranian news agency IRNA.

The state-run agency said in May: Iran will likely have seven homemade satellites ready for launch by the end of the Persian year in March 2023.

Earlier this year, Iran launched a missile into space. However, a spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Defense said in statements broadcast on state television at the time: Iran’s space-launched rocket failed to put three research devices in orbit because the missile could not reach the required speed.
