Israel expands its operations in Lebanon… evacuation alerts and dozens of Hezbollah members killed
The southern Lebanon front is witnessing a rapid escalation, with the Israeli army intensifying its military operations and issuing urgent evacuation alerts to residents, as airstrikes and artillery shelling continue and the scope of clashes expands along the border area.
The Israeli army issued an urgent warning to residents in areas south of the Zahrani River in southern Lebanon, calling on them to evacuate immediately and head toward northern areas amid ongoing military escalation and the widening of operations in the border region.
An image published by the Israeli army showed a member of Hezbollah attempting to carry out an attack.
In a statement released by its spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, the army confirmed that its operations were targeting what it described as “Hezbollah activities,” noting that airstrikes are continuing at an intense pace and warning residents against remaining in combat zones, especially near positions, members of the group, or infrastructure linked to it.
It stressed that remaining south of the Zahrani River could directly endanger civilians and urged immediate movement northward and avoidance of operational areas as air and artillery strikes continue intensively.
Field operations and intensified shelling
On the ground, the Israeli army stated that forces from the 36th Division continue to carry out large-scale military operations in southern Lebanon. It said that a series of operations over the past 24 hours reportedly resulted in the killing of “dozens of Hezbollah members” who were observed attempting to set up ambushes against the forces.
It added that one operation involved targeting an individual carrying an RPG launcher before he could fire, while another member was arrested during field surveillance operations and transferred for interrogation as part of ongoing pursuit efforts in combat zones.
The army also announced the destruction of military infrastructure, including weapons depots, field positions, underground tunnel openings, and a rocket launch platform. It further reported the seizure of various combat equipment, including military vests, helmets, and ready-to-use rocket launchers.
In the same context, it noted that artillery forces fired more than 700 shells in recent days toward targets in southern Lebanon as part of intensive shelling aimed at undermining combat capabilities on the ground.
