Jordan: The court of the accused detained in the last sedition issue


According to judicial sources, Jordan’s State Security Court begun an investigation about the issue of former chief of the royal court, Bassem Awadallah, Sharif Hassan bin Zaid, and others, who were accused of sedition and undermining the security and stability of the kingdom.

Almamlaka stated TV cited what an official source said that the Public Prosecutor of the State Security Court started today the investigation about the coup for all those accused, without providing more details.

Indeed, the State Security Prosecutor would evaluate the issue of April 03 that was related to the King’s half-brother, the former Crown Prince Hamza bin al-Hussein.

Preparation for the coup

 

On his part, the Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh affirmed in a parliamentary session that the former heritor would not be tried and that his case has been resolved within the Royal Household, and the trial would take the issue. Whereas, activists diffused copies of the ruling family law published in 1937 that did not contain immunity for family members.

In two separate House of Representatives gatherings, last Monday, Khasawneh showed details about the relationship between Prince Hamza, Awadallah, and bin Zaid. He also revealed the presence of suspicious movements and visits swapped between the prince and the former chief of the Royal Court, and also coordination during more than a year.

Khasawneh stated that they discussed dates to execute their plans for destabilizing security and stability, as preparation to the prince to present himself as a King, according to the deputies.

In the meantime, deputies said that the prime minister related the recent events about the pressures that King Abdullah II faced since he was refusing to join the plan of the deal of the century by the former US administration.

Presence of evidences

Furthermore, the prime minister also indicated that there were proofs that proves the involvement of the prisoners, affirming that elements seek to use local incidents to prompt discord and push forces against the King.  They also used thousands of false accounts on social media, led by outside to spread rumors and speech-making against the King.

Previously, a common force of the armed forces and the General Intelligence detained 16 people, including Awadallah and bin Zaid. Besides, there was order to the prince Hamza to stop all actions against security and stability, and then Prince el-Hassan bin Talal could force him to sign a letter while he renewed loyalty to the King, placing himself at the disposal of the Jordanian monarch.

Prince Hamza seemed, last Sunday, behind King Abdullah II with the sons of the late King Hussein and his cousins in visit to the royal graves on the occasion of 100 years of the Hashemite kingdom’s independence.
