Kais Saied accuses the Brotherhood: Their goal is to torment the people and return to power through diabolical plans

After all their attempts failed to sow chaos, manipulate public opinion, garner international support, and incite the Tunisian street, the Tunisian Brotherhood continues to try to worsen the situation in Tunisia through diabolical plans to inflame tensions and play with the fire of discord, according to statements by Tunisian President Kais Saied.

Saied reiterated in a statement from the Tunisian presidency on Monday his emphasis on the role of the judiciary, especially in this stage that Tunisia is going through, in “holding accountable those who committed crimes and are still organizing criminal activities against the nation and the people.”

During his meeting with Moncef Akouch, the President of the Supreme Transitional Judiciary Council, Saied stated that “it is no longer hidden from anyone that there are those who seek to exacerbate the social situation by various means, such as monopolizing essential goods or cutting off drinking water in several regions of the republic, under the pretext of carrying out routine maintenance work, causing our people to suffer from thirst while the sun in the sky almost burns their faces,” in a clear reference to the Brotherhood organization.

He added that “the routine work for these people is to torment the Tunisian people to ignite the situation, so that the corrupt can escape accountability and return to power to spread corruption on the land after the chaos they planned both inside and outside this beloved nation.”

The meeting also discussed the judicial movement for the coming year, which is being prepared and will be announced as soon as possible, according to the same statement.

Observers confirm that after the failure of Ennahda to rally the international community against President Kais Saied, it focused its attention on mobilizing Tunisians against him, exploiting the economic and social crises, without considering Ennahda’s responsibility for these crises when it was in power, or the role of global crises such as the Ukraine war and the coronavirus pandemic.

The movement’s annoyance and confusion increased after the investigation into political assassinations and its secret apparatus was opened before the prosecutor’s office, as well as the issue of recruiting Tunisian youth to join terrorist movements in conflict areas abroad, a file linked to international parties, and during its rule, it did everything possible to hide its involvement.

On April 17, 2023, the Tunisian authorities arrested the leader of the Tunisian Brotherhood, Rached Ghannouchi, on charges of conspiring against state security.
