Military units from the Tarek bin Ziyad Brigade clashed with groups affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) in the Ghadduwah area, the Libyan Armed Forces’ Military Media Division said Monday.

The Military Media Division said in a press release published today that the clashes resulted in the injury of two members of the terrorist organization, as military units cordoned off the entire area, and at this moment the area is being combed to arrest the remaining of these groups, according to Libya Alhadath TV.

The armed forces seized a number of mobile phones they had in their possession, she said, adding that explosives were found in one of the vehicles that was carrying the groups. The men were also seized, she said, adding that Tunisian terrorist leader Hisham Ben Hashemi, who was in charge of the car bomb, was spotted as part of the terrorist group.

“While conducting a patrol from the 10th Brigade’s Tariq Ibn Ziyad Brigade, a Mitsubishi double car was parked in the side of an agricultural office between Ghadduwah and the Taraghin area”, said Maj. Gen. Khalid al-Mahjoub, director of the moral guidance department.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Mahjoub said: “The patrol headed to the car, which escaped, and was chased after it. When they approached it, they opened fire on the patrol car and responded to them and fled. After that, a force from the 10th Tariq Brigade and a group from the 73rd Brigade and 128th Brigade combed the districts and the area”.
