Mahjoub: The basis for Libya’s stability is the exit of Turkey and mercenaries
“Major General Khaled al-Mahjoub, director of the moral guidance department in the Libyan army, said that the key to stability in our country was the exit of Turkey and its mercenaries.”
“We are trying to liberate our country, we are not warmongers, and Ankara sees Libya as one of the rescue lines for the Turkish economy,” said the director of the Moral Guidance Department.”
Turkey is exploiting the chaos to get Libyan money, and we will not accept the presence of mercenaries and foreign troops on our soil, he continued.
Earlier, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights revealed that about 130 armed Syrian mercenaries loyal to the Turkish government in Libya have returned over the past few hours, while a similar batch of fighters from Turkish forces and factions in northern Syria have moved to Ankara and Tripoli.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a statement, a copy of which was seen by Al-Ain News, that the policy adopted by Ankara in Libya has become standard, despite all international demands for the necessity to expel mercenaries.
He pointed out that the continued presence of Syrian mercenaries in Libya shows no signs of a final return to Syria. On the contrary, the exchange operations continue, with the departure of batches from Syria to Turkey and from there to Libya in return for a counter-payment.
