Marib Clashes: More than 100 Houthis Murdered in Hajjah


Mora than 100 Houthi militants were murdered on Friday and Saturday as severe confrontations persisted between the Iran-backed militia and pro-government forces in the Yemeni governorates of Marib and Hajjah.

In fact, confrontations between Yemeni army forces that are supported by Saudi-led Arab Coalition and the Houthis have exaggerated in Marib since early in March. Marib constitute the last major northern place for pro-government forces and is actually a home to one of Yemen’s largest oil infrastructures.

Furthermore, the Arab Coalition’s air forces targeted Houthi tanks and anti-aircraft weapons in Marib’s Sirwah district, while many Houthi troops were murdered in the attack.

Although that they are suffering from important losses in Marib and Hajjah, Houthis keep work for more reinforcements to battlefronts in the two governorates. The Iran-aligned group also continued its attempts to launch cross-border assaults against neighboring Saudi Arabia.

The Arab Coalition also demolished on Saturday, a Houthi explosive-laden drone launched towards Saudi Arabia in Yemeni airspace. The unsuccessful assault that comes after a day that the Iran-backed militia launched an explosive-laden Houthi drone targeting Khamis Mushait and a ballistic missile fired toward Jazan.

Many condemnations

The UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab Parliament, have condemned the Friday’s attacks. On its part, the Arab Parliament confirmed that the security and stability of Saudi Arabia is a fundamental pillar of the Arab national security and represents a constant strategic depth in the national security system as a whole.

Also, the Arab Parliament alerted in an official statement, about the continuing violations staged by Houthi militias, indicating that they marks Iran’s broader plan for destabilizing the region.

In addition, the Cairo-based legislative body appealed the international community to take urgent and decisive action to deter Houthi violence and protect civilians.

Otherwise, the Arab Parliament confirmed again its full stand and solidarity with Saudi Arabia in all the procedures that the Kingdom takes to protect and preserve its national security and the safety of its citizens and residents.
