Massacre of the Imam of a mosque in Sanaa – Yemenis recount Houthi’s crimes inside mosques

The crimes of the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia have not been limited to bombing civilians, killing children and women, causing the world’s largest humanitarian crisis and putting millions at risk of starvation, but they have been bombing mosques, killing imams and slaughtering them in order to force worshippers to listen to Abdul-Malik al-Houthi’s lectures.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has condemned Houthi terrorist attacks, stressing that Iranian-backed militia rockets are targeting schools, mosques, hospitals, and civilians and must stop.

Imam Mosque Massacre

According to eyewitnesses, the militia slaughtered the imam of a mosque in the capital Sanaa.

In addition, Tarawih prayers were banned in mosques in order to listen to Abdul-Malik al-Houthi’s speech.

Observers see the increase in Houthi crimes as a warning to the international community that the Iranian-backed militia will not stop or abide by the truce, so strict measures and sanctions must be taken and completely isolated until Yemen collapses and regains legitimacy.

Houthi crimes

Since 2020, militias have started committing the most heinous crimes by bombing mosques and killing worshippers and imams.

In August 2020, the Houthi militia followed a bloody new strategy by targeting mosques and places of worship in most Yemeni governorates at prayer time to kill as many citizens as possible, terrorize any other citizen, and send a message that there is no safe place in Yemen from Houthi terrorism – even mosques are armed with rockets.

The Yemeni Ministry of Endowments confirmed that Houthis targeted a mosque belonging to the special security forces in Marib province with a ballistic missile while soldiers were performing dawn prayers.

In July 2012, the militia bombed a mosque inside the Yemeni army’s 5th Brigade camp in Abyan, southern Yemen.

Seven worshippers were killed in the terrorist attack. A Houthi missile targeted the mosque inside a military base during prayers.

In November 2012, the Houthi militia bombed one of the largest mosques in Marib city, as well as a school and a residential city.

Experts say the Houthis are targeting mosques at prayer time to kill as many citizens as possible. The Iranian militia also aims to change the Yemeni identity and turn Yemen into a Shiite Iranian emirate following the same Iranian approach.

While informed sources confirmed that Houthi missiles always target mosques and schools as if they were a message that what is happening in Yemen is genocide, everyone is threatened as long as they do not support Houthi.
