Morocco extends COVID-19 Vaccination Company
The Health Ministry declared on Monday that Morocco extended COVID-19 vaccinations to all citizens aged between 55 and 60. Indeed, the company was launched in late January and started by medical staff, the old people and people with chronic diseases.
To arrive to the collective immunity in the kingdom, the health ministry called targeted citizens to do the inscription to receive the vaccine through the registration via the devoted website or sending an SMS to 1717.
The health ministry also affirmed the importance of respecting preventive procedures before, during and after being vaccinated to help to the authorities’ efforts to stop the spread of the virus.
In the meantime, Prime Minister Saad Eddine El Othmani stated on Sunday that the vaccination step in recent weeks has been slow, attributing this to the competition about the provision of vaccines that affects the supply. Nevertheless, and expressing his hope to receive new lots of COVID-19 doses soon.
Procedures during Ramadan
As comments on the procedures taken by the authorities during Ramadan, Othmani stated that they have showed effective as presented in the drop in the statistics of coronavirus cases during the first 10 days of the holy fasting month.
Moreover, authorities have applied a nationwide night restriction from 8 pm to 6 am, which beginning from the first day of Ramadan. According to the latest Health Ministry update about the pandemic, 4,723,635 people have taken the first dose of the vaccine until now, whereas, 4,217,485 citizens have taken the two doses.
Besides, Morocco registered 326 new coronavirus cases and four deaths, reaching the total to 8,992 since the emergence of the pandemic.
