Morocco PM considered the Spain’s welcoming of Polisario Head as a Scandal
Morocco’s Prime Minister Saad Eddine El Othmani criticized Spain’s welcoming of chief of the Polisario Front Brahim Ghali with a false Algerian identity and described it as a scandal.
When he spoke during a virtual gathering with the Justice and Development Party (PJD), he stated the separatist front claims it has a state, ministers and ambassadors, while it actually has no official passport.
The Foreign Ministry showed its regret about Spain’s hosting of Ghali, who is accused of exerted serious war crimes and violent human rights violations. It also said that Madrid’s position is inconsistent with the spirit of partnership and good neighborliness.
The ministry declared on Sunday that Rabat wants a clarification of Spain’s stance. The Foreign Ministry also called the Spanish ambassador to transfer the government’s regret about the decision to receive Ghali for medical care.
On its part, the Spanish foreign ministry stated on Thursday that Ghali is being treated from COVID-19 and had been transferred to Spain for strictly humanitarian reasons.
