Morocco Sends Tons of Medical Aid to Gaza in a New Humanitarian Gesture

King Mohammed VI personally funds a large portion of the aid directed to the Palestinian sector from his own money

Moroccan King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, has ordered the dispatch of medical aid to the people of Gaza, adding to the many initiatives launched by the kingdom since the outbreak of the war, in an effort to alleviate the humanitarian disaster in the Palestinian sector.

The Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated in a statement that “this aid, ordered by King Mohammed VI, consists of forty tons of medical supplies, including equipment for treating burns, surgical emergencies, fractures, and essential medicines,” adding that “these medical supplies are intended for adults and young children,” according to the Moroccan News Agency (MAP).

The statement continued that King Mohammed VI has personally funded a large portion of the aid directed to the Palestinian sector.

The same source revealed that “the Moroccan aid will be delivered to Gaza through the same unprecedented land route used during the shipment of food supplies last Ramadan, as directed by King Mohammed VI.”

It noted that “these large-scale humanitarian operations for the benefit of Palestinians confirm the Moroccan monarch’s commitment to the Palestinian cause.”

Previously, during last Ramadan, King Mohammed VI directed the dispatch of relief aid to the residents of Gaza and Jerusalem, which included more than 40 tons of food supplies.

Morocco is the first country to transport its humanitarian aid via the Kerem Shalom crossing and deliver it directly to the Palestinian beneficiaries.

Since the outbreak of the war waged by Israel on Gaza, Morocco has been the first to send humanitarian aid to the Palestinian sector, renewing its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause with concrete actions, free from political bidding, reminding that it has always affirmed that dialogue and negotiations are the only way to reach a comprehensive and lasting solution based on international legitimacy resolutions and the principle of the two-state solution.

The Moroccan initiatives aimed at alleviating the disaster in the Palestinian sector demonstrate that the kingdom places great importance on the humanitarian issue, especially amid medical warnings of worsening epidemics in Gaza.

Morocco has consistently demonstrated over the past years that its alignment with the Palestinian cause is steadfast, not needing propaganda in forums and media but relying on practical, active, and realistic actions in international arenas, alongside continuous material support and humanitarian aid through the Jerusalem Support Committee.

King Mohammed VI has repeatedly emphasized “the need to find a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian cause through negotiations based on international legitimacy, calling for overcoming the political deadlock.”

For more than eight months, Israel has continued its war on Gaza, ignoring UN Security Council resolutions demanding an immediate halt, and International Court of Justice orders to end the invasion of Rafah (south) and take measures to prevent genocide and improve the dire humanitarian situation in the sector.
