Muslim Brotherhood: Selection of an interim “committee” and the appointment of a “guide”

In another scene of intra-Brotherhood conflict, the Istanbul Front announced the formation of a committee to carry out the duties of the Brotherhood Guide for six months, to be represented by Mustafa Talba.

A statement issued by Mahmoud Hussein’s Front, which is fighting with the London Front led by Ibrahim Munir, said the terrorist group’s Shura Council met and decided to form an interim committee on behalf of the committee acting as supreme guide.

The statement said that the committee began its work and named Dr. Mustafa Talba as its official representative. He is vice president of the Brotherhood’s Shura Council in Istanbul and runs an economic group affiliated with the group.

Mustafa Talba is a British businessman who worked as a liaison between the Brotherhood and the Turkish Secret Service and is accused by some parties within the group of being linked to Western intelligence services; he is also on Egypt’s terror lists.

A few days ago, Mahmoud Hussein held a rally of dozens of his supporters in Istanbul to rally against the Front of Ibrahim Munir, acting leader of the Supreme Leader. Analysts see the two front’s current conflict as “an attempt to revive the dead”.

The conference, which lasted for a long time and was attended by all the symbols of Mahmoud Hussein’s movement and a large number of women, sought to take the decision to hold new internal elections within six months and to cancel any decisions approved by Ibrahim Munir and his Front, but it did not achieve what they wanted. The results of the conference were in its disfavor despite its assistance to what is known as the Egyptian Brotherhood Abroad.

The terrorist group has been in a state of deep internal turmoil in recent times, amidst mutual accusations of treason and disbelief among conflicting parties.

The London Front, led by the group’s acting leader, Ibrahim Munir, continues to dominate the reins of power with broad international influence.

The other front, sponsored by former Secretary-General of the Brotherhood Mahmoud Hussein from Ankara, is trying to eliminate the Ibrahim Munir front, with a heavy blow and oust Munir from office, drawing strength from the financial cover he enjoys as one of the most important leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood’s financial control.
