Human rights and humanitarian organizations have confirmed that the territory is facing its most severe humanitarian disaster in decades, with rising levels of hunger among civilians, particularly children, women, and the elderly.
The United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the World Food Programme stressed in successive statements that hundreds of thousands of Gaza residents are facing “catastrophic hunger,” while food insecurity threatens the lives of more than one million people.
These institutions called for urgent action to lift restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid and to ensure the delivery of food and medical supplies without obstruction.

On the Arab front, the Arab League strongly condemned what it described as Israel’s “starvation crimes” against Palestinians, emphasizing that depriving civilians of food and medicine constitutes a war crime documented in international law.
Egypt, Jordan, and Qatar issued similar statements demanding an immediate end to systematic starvation policies and urging intensified relief efforts.
Meanwhile, several world capitals witnessed demonstrations in solidarity with Gaza’s population, where slogans condemning collective punishment policies were raised, calling on the international community to urgently intervene to protect civilians.

Observers believe that the growing international and Arab anger may serve as additional pressure on Israel and could push toward the opening of immediate humanitarian corridors to ensure the delivery of aid to millions under siege in the enclave.
Palestinian political analyst Dr. Mustafa Barghouti stated that the unprecedented worsening of famine in Gaza, caused by Israel’s continuous targeting of infrastructure and food sources, constitutes a “full-fledged war crime” punishable under international law.
Barghouti explained that Israel is practicing a policy of “collective punishment” against more than two million Palestinians by targeting trucks, warehouses, and preventing the entry of humanitarian aid, in an attempt to subjugate the civilian population through the weapon of starvation.

He stressed that such policies are in clear violation of the Geneva Conventions, which criminalize depriving civilians of food and medicine as a method of warfare.
The Palestinian analyst added that the mounting international and Arab anger reflects a growing awareness of the severity of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, but he warned that statements alone are insufficient. He called for concrete steps, most notably the imposition of diplomatic and economic pressure on Israel, and the urgent and sustained opening of safe humanitarian corridors.
Finally, Barghouti emphasized that the resilience of the Palestinian people in the face of these policies will remain a symbol of the ongoing humanitarian struggle. However, he also warned that the persistence of famine threatens the lives of hundreds of thousands of children, women, and the elderly, making immediate action commensurate with the scale of the catastrophe an absolute necessity.
