Risks of Houthi terrorism grow… Qatar World Cup 2022 threatened with targeting

Although the Houthi group has been designated as a terrorist group, the terrorist militia continues to threaten the security of the Gulf and the region, which underscores the danger this militia poses to the region as a whole, especially since this threat could harm the security of the World Cup in Qatar and could at any moment launch Houthi strikes on the World Cup stadiums.

Houthi aims and plans

Many reports confirmed that Houthi will continue its terrorist crimes against innocent civilians in the Gulf countries by targeting them with missiles and drones that are deliberately booby-trapped, in contravention of international laws and norms. It also flouted the condemnation of the international and Arab community for its continuous attacks, and without any regard to calls and demands to end the Yemeni crisis, enhance the chances of establishing peace, and stop the major humanitarian repercussions of the practices of militias, such as displacement and intimidation against the brotherly Yemeni people.

Houthi’s tampering with the security and stability of the region and his insistence on threatening international trade routes and jeopardizing global energy supplies through cowardly terrorist acts that prolong the Yemeni crisis and aggravate its humanitarian consequences are considered displacements, interruptions of education and food shortages, especially in light of the militias’ insistence on obstructing the delivery of international assistance to the brotherly people, or the confiscation and internal redirection of such aid to serve their members and goals, and to make way for terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah to use Yemeni territory as a base for their crimes against the Yemeni people and the Saudi Arabia.

Houthi deterrence

Continued Houthi threats to the region have been met by the UAE, which has called on the international community to deter Ansar Allah’s (Houthi) threats to regional countries after the Saudi-led Arab coalition foiled an attack on the southern city of Jizan.

The continued attacks by the Houthis on civilians and civilian objects in Saudi Arabia reflect its blatant defiance of the international community and its disregard for all international laws and norms, adding that these acts require a deterrent response to everything that threatens the security, safety and lives of civilians, and call on the international community to support the measures taken by the coalition to stop the Houthis’ targeting of civilian objects and to deter their threats to regional countries.

Houthi threat in the Region

Yahya Al-Abed, a Yemeni political analyst, said that Houthi’s threats to the region represent a major threat to the terrorist militia’s ongoing crimes against the people of the region. He pointed out that despite all international sanctions and the Security Council’s declaration that Houthi is a terrorist militia, it continues its violations, crimes and threats against the region.

In a special statement, he added: “The Houthi continued threat will also threaten this year’s Qatar World Cup, especially as Houthi has threatened the region as a whole, requiring immediate action to deter this militia and support the efforts of the UAE and Saudi Arabia to counter these Houthi threats and terrorism in the region”.
