Saudi king sends message to Iranian regime
Saudi monarch King Salmane ben Abdelaziz Al Saoud said: “Iran is a neighbor of the Kingdom and we hope it will change its policy and negative behavior in the region and move towards dialog and cooperation”.
The Saudi monarch continued during the annual royal speech before the Shura Council yesterday: “We are following with deep concern the Iranian regime’s destabilizing policy in the region, including the establishment and support of sectarian and armed militias and the systematic deployment of its military capabilities in regional countries”, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
King Salman added: “The Kingdom is keen on the security and stability of Yemen and the region, working to alleviate the human suffering of the Yemeni people and to push all parties to accept political solutions; to restore security and stability to Yemen and ward off threats to the kingdom and the region”.
The Saudi monarch reiterated the kingdom’s initiative to end the conflict in Yemen, expressing support for UN and international efforts to reach a political solution, in accordance with the 3 Terms of Reference; the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialog and UN Security Council resolution 2216.
King Salmane touched on the Syrian and Libyan issues: “The Kingdom reaffirms its support for all efforts aimed at reaching political solutions that preserve the sovereignty, unity and integrity of the two countries, achieve security and stability in them and end the suffering of their peoples”, stressing his country’s commitment to international conventions to establish international security and stability.
The Saudi monarch said that the kingdom stands by the Lebanese people and urges all Lebanese leaders to put the interests of their people first, work to achieve the security, stability and prosperity people aspire to, and stop Hezbollah’s domination of the state.
Locally: Saudi Arabia is seeking to create a strong economy that will face international changes, the king said.
He added: “The projects that have been launched will create many job opportunities”, “The second phase of Vision 2030 drives further achievements”.
