Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s choose France as destination of his first official overseas trip
French politicians have praised the selection of Sheik Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, as his first official international destination, confirming that it is a historic visit
In an interview with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), John Paul Marte, head of the Center Group in the French Parliament, said: “We are grateful to Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for choosing France as the destination of his first official foreign visit since he assumed power in the United Arab Emirates. His highness is a guest of our dear and we got to know him better during his previous visits to France when he was crown prince”.
He added: “We have a strong and solid partnership with our Emirati friends in all fields, including economy, defense, culture, heritage protection and climate; However, we consider culture the cornerstone of these distinguished relations”.
Characteristic relation
The French politician continued: “French culture, as you know, is universal and resonates widely with the Emirati people, and we, as French, draw from Emirati culture and draw inspiration from it”.
“What distinguishes the UAE and France is that their relations are based on mutual respect, and they succeeded in creating a balanced and constructive exchange environment”, he said. “Our relationship is based on the respect of each party”, he said, adding that France and the UAE have established bases to facilitate investments that include facilities for companies from both countries and businessmen.

Great momentum
Victor added: “Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan’s last state visit to France was in 1991 and left a great deal of momentum in France. Today, the visit of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan carries momentum”, he said, noting that relations between France and the UAE are distinct.
The French politician added: “The UAE is present in all fields and has a strong influence on international decisions, and we are proud of the progress made by the French-UAE partnership in all fields”, he said. “What distinguishes the French-UAE partnership is that it is strategic, rich and strong, and I think we can develop it more and more with the concerted efforts of the two countries’ leaders”.
The streets of the French capital, Paris, are adorned with UAE flags, prior to the state visit of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the Emirates, to France, starting tomorrow, Monday.
