Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed declares a return to normal life after getting over the coronavirus crisis
Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed Al Nahyane, Crown Prince of Abou Dabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE armed forces, has promised the UAE’s population an exit from the coronavirus crisis and a return to normalcy.
Sheikh Mohammed ben Zayed Al Nahyane said on his official Instagram account: “We have emerged from the coronavirus crisis in good health and have learned many lessons and experiences from it. We thank God that life has started to return to normal in the UAE.”
In recent months, the UAE has achieved the results of its successful policies in the face of the Covid-19 crisis, which was described as “balanced” in terms of taking into account two aspects of the equation linked to the crisis, namely health and the economy.
To this end, the United Arab Emirates presented one of the most successful models of coexistence with the new situation, or what has become known as the “new reality”, which included solid steps and procedures that ensured the continuity of the educational and health system, the recovery of the economic and commercial sector, in addition to the partial return of the tourism and recreational sectors. These steps and procedures defined life after the crisis.
The United Arab Emirates is following up on its methodology for testing and limiting the spread of the epidemic by conducting intensive tests for different segments of society. It is at the forefront of the countries of the world that have conducted tests for the coronavirus relative to the total population. The total number of tests as of October 5 exceeded 20,273,265 doses and the rate of distribution of the vaccine was 204.98 doses per 100 people.
Health sector successes
Speaking at the UAE government briefing on the new coronavirus (COVID-19), Dr. Nura Al Ghaithi, spokesperson for the launch of the health sector in the UAE, said on Tuesday that the health sector played an active role in strengthening the national response to the COVID-19 pandemic and containing its repercussions, and contributed, together with other vital sectors, to providing all the necessary means and resources to address the health pandemic challenges and reach recovery.
“We are proud of this proactive approach, and we are one of the first countries to turn the challenges of COVID-19 into opportunities and take advantage of all our experiences to become a global model to be emulated.”
She said the health sector has invested its resources in the research field to reach the targets we see today, most notably safe vaccines, in addition to the protocol of safe treatment in hospitals in the United Arab Emirates.
She said: The health sector continues its efforts to reach community immunity by providing vaccines to eligible groups. The percentage of people receiving the first dose of the total population reached 94.78%, while the percentage of people receiving the two doses reached 84.39% of the total population.
Dr. Nura Al-Ghaithi praised the community role that contributed to the success of the national vaccination campaign, as the UAE provided more than 20 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, expressing her thanks and appreciation for the community response and the high confidence in the health sector and its efforts.
She praised the continuous decrease in the number of daily infections, which is due to the balanced state strategy that was keen to provide vaccines on a large scale and in different types to ensure the health and safety of society.
She said that the UAE has assumed a great place at the regional and global levels and was ranked among the first countries in the world to deal with the pandemic, thanks to the concerted efforts of all sectors, the achievement of strategic balance and the achievement of sustainable recovery.
She noted that this success was achieved through many challenges and exceptional circumstances, but thanks to the vision of our wise leadership and the commitment and awareness of our society, we have overcome difficulties and will enjoy a new normal life in the near term.
Dr. Nora Al-Ghaithi, the official spokesperson for the health sector in the UAE, said at the end of the briefing that there is a need for social integration at this current stage in order to preserve all the gains made.
She said that the gradual opening of the state requires all of us to share community responsibility to maintain our health and safety, to contain this pandemic and to move towards a brighter future.

Dr. Farida Al Hussaini, the official spokesperson for the health sector in the United Arab Emirates, said that the United Arab Emirates has succeeded in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic by all measures, and all the efforts made by the various teams working to combat the pandemic have been successful and successful. This is considered the fruit of the sound vision of our wise and proactive national leadership in all vital sectors.
She said during an earlier briefing to the UAE government on the new coronavirus: We are witnessing this in the health sector, which has proven the strength and preparedness of its infrastructure, including qualified staff, to ensure preparedness at all levels to face various types of emergencies and crises. This has made the UAE the first place in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide.
Dr. Farida Al Hussaini revealed that the United Arab Emirates ranked third in the world in the number of COVID-19 tests conducted per 1,000 inhabitants in countries with more than one million inhabitants, according to Our World in Data, from the beginning of the pandemic until September 12 last year. It also ranked fifth globally in terms of the number of deaths from confirmed COVID-19 cases, according to the figures of the Global Platform on September 12 last year.
