Sudan and the United Arab Emirates signed a Memorandum to establish solar energy plants


The Sudanese energy ministry declared in a statement on Sunday that Sudan and the United Arab Emirates signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of solar energy plants and its capacity is about 500 megawatts (MW).

The energy ministry reported that the UAE, which is represented by one of its private companies, will provide, establish, install and manage plants for 20 years, but without defining how many plants containing in the deal signed.

The statement related that the Gulf country will also train and employ Sudanese employees during the contract period, while the Sudanese government engages for purchasing electricity at a competitive price.
